- Monthly card payment
- An automatic monthly payment by debit or credit card.
- Pay for the year
- Pay the whole year in advance and save 10%.

Common questions
Can't see yours? Ring Emma on 07824 776 510 or Richard on 07824 549 441.
How long do lessons last?
Every lesson is one hour.
How many students are in a class?
No more than six.
Is the first lesson really free?
Yes. Your child’s first lesson is a free assessment lesson, and no fees are due until after it.
Where are lessons taught?
At our own tuition centre: Trinity House, 15 Cross Street, Standish, Wigan. Home-educated students can sometimes have lessons online.
Who will teach my child?
Fully qualified subject specialist teachers with many years of classroom experience. Every member of staff has an enhanced DBS check, two references and safeguarding training, and we follow safer recruitment practices.
Can we look round first?
Yes. Young people can worry about a new place and new tutors, so we are always happy for families to tour the centre, meet the tutors and have a chat first. Get in touch to book a time.
What if my child misses a lesson?
Each child’s place is kept for them, so fees are due for every lesson in the half-term whatever the attendance.
Give us at least 7 days’ notice and we will try to move the lesson to another time within 7 days either side. It depends on a suitable class having space, so we can’t promise it.
In their final half-term, Year 11 students can choose which lessons to come to around their exams, and you only pay for those.
How many lessons do I book?
Lessons are booked in half-term blocks, usually 5 to 8 lessons depending on the length of the half-term. Start part way through and you pay for the lessons left.
Do you offer one-to-one lessons?
Most classes are small groups, but we sometimes have space for one-to-one specialist dyslexia teaching.
Do you teach adults?
Yes. In the daytime we tutor adults studying GCSE English and GCSE Maths, and Functional Skills in English and Maths, which are often needed for career progression.
“Absolutely delighted today to see that hard work and dedication has paid off enabling my son to pass his English and maths GCSEs. He can now move onto a college course he wanted. Many thanks to both Emma and Richard as we know that without their support and expertise it would likely have been a very different story! I would definitely recommend Top Grades - it's definitely worth the money!”
Start with a free assessment lesson
Your child comes in for an hour, meets their tutor and does some relaxed work so we can see where they are. No fees are due until after it, and you decide afterwards whether to carry on.
